The Text and Meaning
The text of Darood-e-Tunajjina is as follows in Arabic:
“اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد، كما صليت على إبراهيم وآل إبراهيم، وبارك على محمد وآل محمد، كما باركت على إبراهيم وآل إبراهيم، إنك حميد مجيد”
Transliteration: Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘aali Muhammad, kama sallayta ‘ala Ibrahim wa ‘aali Ibrahim, wa barik ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘aali Muhammad, kama barakta ‘ala Ibrahim wa ‘aali Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majeed.
Translation:
“O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. And grant peace and blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You granted peace and blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are praiseworthy, majestic.”
